TIME TO GROW!!

Hello friends,

Well guys my experience in IEEE was just too good. I am not saying it just to say it. You need to trust on it. This provided me a platform to grow myself in every aspect.Right from interacting with people to gaining technical knowledge. And also getting experinece a major event HYPERCUBE. I had really given my heart out when i was a member in IEEE. This was not only because was a member.. but it was for my growth.. personally and professionally...

And also i got a reward from IEEE... The E.P.I.K award.... "EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE IN IEEE".
I am saying this because this award really helped me in my job.I was immediately placed after my college.
Friends i just like to say......
Joining IEEE is your first step to success.I assure you that you will improve personally as well as professionally because this is the platform where you will just keep on learning. This makes you ready when you meet the outside competetive world....... I repeat...
THE COMPETETIVE WORLD!!!!

Hi Folks,

IEEE, This is the only active organization in KGCE. IEEE provides you a platform to express your self in front of a crowd, implement your ideas, handling responsibilities given to you and many more…..

I remember when I was in first year, our seniors had come for canvassing. I want to give special thanks to Raghu…this is a guy who forced me to join IEEE. It was one of the best decisions I could have taken in my engg course. I strongly urge my juniors to join IEEE and feel the experience. By reading the blog you will get to know the importance of IEEE.

Talking about the fest…Hyper Cube ….may it be 2006 or 2008 I had a very good experience organizing the event. You will learn the art of “smart working”. You get to impress your professors which will help you to get good score in your term work. We had strength of around 50 members at the end of our tenure which proved to be the highest count in the history of IEEE in karjat.

I hope or shall I say I am confident that IEEE in karjat will have many more success in the future. ALL the BEST for the upcoming events and techfest.

Feel free to contact me any time. It will be my pleasure to help you. May it be with your final year projects or robotics.

Hi friends,

Just came across this nice blog that speaks about IEEE-KGCE and thought of sharing my views and experience about IEEE as well.

I joined IEEE when I was in SE, that too just coz a friend forced me to do so…. a week later attended the 1st meeting of the branch and I was stunned to see the professionalism those guys had in managing the things…the exp was just like a small company, they had a Chairman, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and different committees everyone with a specific role, That day I said to myself, this is something that won’t be covered in the course of Engineering and decided to dedicate some of my time to the branch….and thanked the friend who forced me to join IEEE….

In the later years, we organized Industrial Visits to Aurangabad, Bangalore, we even got a chance to visit ISRO (during Bangalore IV) and were quiet lucky to get a view of the INSAT 3B satellite and meet the team that was working on the project, the satellite was launched after some months …in parallel with this we started a technical festival called HYPERCUBE, which KGCE had never experienced before…..I still remember the ROBOTICS Competition which we started and the whole KGCE applauded for our efforts…the competition even inspired some of the students to participate in INTER-COLLEGIATE competitions at IIT Level, and a group even represented our college for the giant ROBOCON Competition organized by MIT Pune…

Why to join IEEE???? What are the benefits??? The most usual questions that comes to your mind…By reading my exp you would know the kind of exposure an IEEE member will get during his years of engineering (it is definitely something different than just skillfully copying assignments which an engineer would normally do in the 4 yearsJ)

Ok…what when you’re BE and go out to find a job….

As a fresh graduate you would only have your percentage on your side…but let me tell you, if you had been an IEEE member and was active in those years…you would be the first choice of the employer, as they could see some management and organizational skills in your CV….to be specific this happened in my case

Thanks to all who are associated with the branch and all the best for future endeavors!!!

Feel free to contact me for any kind of help...

LAN-O-MANIA

What is LAN-O-MANIA?

Well to be straight this is nothing but Computer games played on a Local network.

Which Games we have??

Here we have 2 very famous games on PC…

  1. Counter-strike Condition zero
  2. Need for speed most wanted

These two games are actually two different competitions and there are separate prizes for both of them.

What are these games??

Counter-Strike CS 1.6 :

  • Counter-Strike is a first-person shooter in which players join either the terrorist or counter-terrorist team (or becomes a spectator).
  • Each team attempts to complete their mission objective and/or eliminate the opposing team.
  • Each round starts with the two teams spawning simultaneously, usually at opposite ends of the map from each other.
  • A player can choose to play as one of ten different default character models.
  • Players are generally given a few seconds before the round begins (known as "freeze time") to prepare and buy equipment, during which they cannot attack or walk/move.
  • Once the round has ended, surviving players retain their equipment for use in the next round; players who were killed begin the next round with the basic default starting equipment.
  • Standard monetary bonuses are awarded for winning a round, losing a round, killing an enemy, being the first to instruct a hostage to follow, rescuing a hostage or planting the bomb.
  • The scoreboard displays team scores in addition to statistics for each player: name, kills, deaths, and ping (in milliseconds). The scoreboard also indicates whether a player is dead, carrying the bomb (on bomb maps), or is the VIP (on assassination maps), although information on players on the opposing team is hidden from a player until his/her death, as this information can be important.
  • Killed players become "spectators" for the duration of the round; Spectators are generally able to watch the rest of the round from multiple selectable views.
  • Counter-Strike: Condition Zero (CS1.6) is a multiplayer computer game and the follow-up to Counter-Strike. CS features a multiplayer mode, which features updated character models, textures, maps and other graphical tweaks.

Need For Speed Most Wanted (AKA NFSMW):

Most Wanted, like other Need for Speed games, is essentially a driving and racing game, where the player selects one car and races against a time limit or other racers to reach a destination.

How these games are played in LAN-O-MANIA??

  • In Counter-strike condition zero entries must be made as a team having 3 members each.
  • In this competition a set no of rounds are played between two teams wherein for half rounds one team will be Terrorist and other CT and for the other half there will be a switch. The team which wins most no of rounds will be qualified and the other eliminated.
PRIZE WILL BE GIVEN TO TEAM

  • In Most wanted entries will be individual. In this competition a group of 6-7 peoples will be taken and they are asked to play one circuit, one sprint and one Drag race. Top 3 amongst them will be qualified for next round.
  • PRIZE WILL BE GIVEN TO TEAM!!

Rules for LAN-O-MANIA:

  • The computers are the property of college authorities so please don’t get over excited and break keyboards and mouse any such lose will not be tolerated.
  • The others rules will be announced at the day of competition itself.
  • Two important abilities will be tested of yours

  1. How good you are in team (CS1.6)
  2. How focused you are

So Go Ahead Test Yourself & Have Fun!!

BEST OF LUCK!!!

TREASURE HUNT:

What Is Treasure Hunt Compitition??

The Treasure Hunt is an adrelaine pumping fast paced game that will leave you craving for more.

It is very popular on the college circuit and is flooded with entries every year.

LEVELS OF GAME:

It basically consists of two stages:

  1. Elimination Stage
  2. Main Stage

Elimination Stage:

  • The Elimination stage consists of the teams compete in various tasks that decide their elimination or their passage to the next level.
  • It normally consists of one brain task, one physically challenging task and one mind strength testing task.
  • All the tasks all time checked i.e. the team that completes all the tasks in least amount of time wins and advances.
  • The team with the least time is automatically eliminated. The number of team that advance is decided before.

Main Stage:

  • The Main stage actually gives you the feel of hunting a treasure. It’s a race that leaves you exhausted yet excited.
  • The race is simple.
  • All the teams are first taken to a classroom and given a common task.
  • The team that completes the task first gets to take the lead in the “Race”.
  • So the sooner you complete the race the sooner you enter the race.
  • Now the actual treasure hunt requires you to run to various classrooms across the college that either have a clue or require you to perform tedious tasks.
  • These tasks test you physically as well as mentally. And the fear of other teams catching up adds to the tension.
  • So finally the team that completes the total ‘course’ of the tasks gets a vital clue to where the treasure is.
  • All the teams that complete the course get this clue. But the important thing is get it first!
  • In the end the team that finds the treasure wins.

Rules & Regulations:

  • You are not supposed to break any of college rules & have to maintain disciplin as well.
  • Dont ever try to enter any lab & library.
  • Don't touch any of the statu and valuable property of college.
  • The team will be disqualified immediately if the Rules are overrulled.

ARENA:
  • Treasure will be hide anywere in area of college campus.
  • More specifications will be avilable at the time of compion with respective Incharge.
GO AND HUNT YOUR TREASURE!!
