Thus, this year the theme of the IEEE Day will be focused on "Empowering Members to Create the Future".

ROBOTICS WORKSHOP

IEEE KGCE is organizing Workshop on LEVEL 1 ROBOTICS . Workshop will be held on 5th October 2011. Only FE and SE students can participate in workshop. Toolkit will be provided by us. You have to pay Rs.1500/- for toolkit. It will be complete hands-on experience. Group of max 4 students can be formed. For fees details or further details just contact members mentioned above or you can contact our member on help-desk at entrance of our college.  






AEROMODELLNG SEMINAR

IEEE-KGCE and MESA-PESA-KGCE are jointly going to organize seminar for mechanical and production student on “AEROMODELLING” by retired air force officer and aeromodelling expert Mr. V. H. Sinha.

ETHICAL HACKING WORKSHOP !!!

**For IEEE members only.

Workshop on Ethical Hacking is organized by CSI-KGCE on 23rd and 24th of this month.

A special concessions are announced for current IEEE-KGCE members. Members have to pay whole amount at time registration. Rs. 50 rebate to all IEEE members from CSI plus Rs.50 rebate to all IEEE members from IEEE ,who were / will be participants of the workshop from IEEE Treasurer.So total Rs.100 rebate will be offered to IEEE members.

ENGINEER'S DAY CELEBRATION AND FRESHERS PARTY

     In India, Engineers' Day is celebrated on 15 September every year.This is very proud day for every Engineer.This year,we have thought of celebrating this day with our newcomers,our FE students.
     This event along with FRESHERS PARTY will be held on Friday,September 16,2011.The event will be jointly organized by IEEE-KGCE , CSI-KGCE & MESA-PESA. The events detail for 16th September are as follows:-
1) ENGINEER'S DAY CELEBRATION
    A small session of Engineer's Day celebration will held in college Auditorium. The event will start at 10:00a.m. and will continue till 11:30 a.m. Here newcomers that is FE students will be introduced to Principal,College Deans,HODs of all Departments etc.. You will be also introduced to 3 students council in our college ie. IEEE-KGCE, CSI-KGCE & MESA-PESA by the respective chairman's.

2)FOOD
   As soon as Engineers Day event is completed you will be offered lunch.
**Lunch will be offered if only if you possess coupons which will be distributed to you before the events start. So be sure get to your coupon . Each student will get a single coupon only.

3) FRESHERS PARTY
    And now time for most awaited event FRESHERS PARTY. Freshers Party will start as soon as you get over with your lunch. There will be loud Music, Dance, Performances and every thing that you want to cherish. Lots of Fun Events will be arranged for newcomers like Mr. & Ms. Freshers and so on . Freshers will be given chance to perform and display their talent like singing, dancing or anything else.
 Students who are interested in participating in Mr. & Ms. Freshers OR those who want Perform in front of crowd should submit there names to the volunteer distributing coupons prior events.
Freshers party will be held in College Library.
    All the FE students are invited.Come,enjoy the food and music, get to know more about your department, your college and a lot more.We welcome you all.

ANDROID WORKSHOP

IEEE KGCE has organised one day hands-on workshop on Android application development. Its A great learning opportunity for students to develope Android application by individual hands-on basis from scratch.
Workshop will be conducted on Saturday, 17th September 2011 at KGCE, KARJAT.
Venue: FE Computer Lab (COMPUTER DEPT.)
Timing: Workshop will start at 9:00am.

About ANDROID :-
  Android is an operating system for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers. It is developed by the Open Handset Alliance led by Google.By Q4 2010 this has grown to 33% of world market. It has became top selling smartphone format.As of june 2011google said that 550,000 new Android device were being activated everyday.Android will no more be restricted as mobile OS but it has bright future in embedded system.

About Workshop:-

• Workshop will be conducted on Saturday, 17th september 2011.
• Students of SE TE & BE from all branches can participate in workshop.
• Participants will get a participation Certificate from  IEEE KGCE and a CD comprising Java and Android Programming kits and Programs.
• No need of proir knowledge of mobile application developement.
•  A batch of only 30 students will be created. So be quick to enroll your name for this workshop.
• Only 30 students who enroll their names first will be considered. 

FEES Details:-
Rs.300 for regular student and Rs.200 for IEEE members.

23rd and 24th FEB

Many different events to be held during our hypercube-2011 are as follows:

Event 1: ROBOTICS

ROBOTICS stands out as the main attraction of any technical-fest!!This year,we have 4 robotics events.All robo events can have a team of maximum 4 members.

1.Dirt race

In this Race the ARENA would be a track with many obstacles.

Contestants have to reach the end of the track in the minimum amount of time.

Rules and Regulations will be decided by the respective committee heads and will be

informed to you during the race.

2.Robo Wrestling

There will be a slightly raised platform having

various holes and obstacles.

2 teams will fight against each other

The aim is, One has to try to bring down or throw down the other

team from the arena.

The winners of this would be decided by knock out matches.

3.PACMAN

There will be a maze as seen in regular pacman games.Your robo has to collect maximum number of points provided by us in the maze.Not just that,you have to protect your robo from our monster robo.Your robo is discarded the moment our moster touches it.The team which collects maximum number of points avoiding the monster is the winner.

4.Blind race

Here,the ARENA will be a maze.Maximum 4 members per team.

One of the contestant will be blindfolded and his/her team-mates

will guide him/her (in the form of instructions only) to the end of the maze.

The Group which finishes this in minimum amount of time

will be the winner.

Note that 2 events Dirt race and Robo Wrestling will be held on the lawns in front of the stage.

Event 2: PHOTOGRAPHY

This year,we plan to encourage the shutterbugs from our college with 2 events

1.Campus Photography

The photographs should be taken with a 'MOBILE PHONE'.Camera quality limit - 8 Megapixels.

Time alloted - 23rd morning till 24th afternoon. A soft copy of the photograph is to be submitted.

Proof of the photograph compulsory while submitting (The mobile phone itself with date and time)

Winners to be declared on 24th evening.

2.Short film making

The contestant has to shoot a movie of around 10-15 mins using any device

and submit the copy to the concerned committee.

Then they will be judged accordingly to decide the winner.More details about this will be informed to the intereted students later.

Event 3: LAN MANIA

We are organizing 'Counter Strike' and 'NFS UNDERGROUND'

competitions.

For COUNTER STRIKE-team of 4 members competing with the other teams.

The winner to be decided by knockout matches.

For NFS UNDERGROUND-If LAN setup works then competition among 4 contestants

else we will record the timing of the contestants and then decide the winer.

Event 4: CRACK-D-CODE

In this event the contestant will have to demonstrate his programming language skills(only C and C++).

He will be given a scenario and he has develop a C/C++ code accordingly or has to find out the errors in the code.

The contestant who codes correctly in minimum amount of time will be the winner.

Event 5: TECHNICAL PAPER PRESENTATION (TPP)

Topics for TPP to be given department wise.5 topics for each department and minimum time for each presentation will be given by this Friday.Total 7 departments will be participating : FE,MECHANICAL,PRODUCTION,COMPUTER,IT,INSTRUMENTATION,EXTC. Judging panel will be respective department HODs.

Key factors to decide the winner: Information content of the selected topic,confidence,presentation skills,eye contact,interaction with the audience.

Note that the hard-copy of your topic to be submitted should be compulsorily in the IEEE format.

Event 6: YOUNG MANAGER

An industrial/proffesional scenario will be given printed on a sheet of paper.The participant will be given some time to think about it and then come up with solutions to tackle the problem he was given.Also,he has to convince the judging panel that his solution is apt and the best one.The one with unique and best solution will be the winner.
